Brad Denney

Dr. Brad David Denney is a double board-certified Birmingham plastic surgeon specializing in cosmetic surgery of the face, breast and body as well as breast and abdominal wall reconstruction. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery, as well as a member of the American Society of Plastics Surgeons, the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and the Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.

Dr. Denney graduated from the University of Georgia, Summa Cum Laude with Honors. He then matriculated to the University of Alabama at Birmingham for medical school.

Dr. Denney completed a five-year residency in general surgery at University of Alabama at Birmingham, focusing on breast and cancer surgery, vascular surgery and minimally-invasive (laparoscopic) techniques. After serving as chief resident, he then went on to complete a dynamic fellowship in plastic surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he received excellent operative training with broad exposure to complex reconstruction and advanced cosmetic surgery. Some of the specific areas of training include breast reconstruction with microvascular and implant techniques, cosmetic surgery of the face, breast and body, complex hand injury management including microvascular surgery and replantation. During his eight years of surgical training, he had the opportunity to be trained by world-renowned surgeons, including Dr. Luis Vasconez and Dr. James Grotting.

He maintains a keen interest in clinical research in order to advance understanding of surgical disease. Dr. Denney lectures to regional hospitals on his expertise in breast reconstruction. He has also provided valuable patient education through television interviews and podcasts. In addition, Dr. Denney has published scientific studies in national surgical journals and has presented at regional, national and international meetings.

Dr. Denney and his wife, an ophthalmologist, live in Birmingham with their two daughters. They enjoy college football, traveling and spending time with family.
