Brow Lift

A brow lift is a surgical procedure that adjusts the contour and position of the eyebrows and can also eliminate deep lines (furrows) and wrinkles, to restore a more youthful appearance. As we age, the eyebrows drop and flatten, which can create a sagging appearance to the upper eyes, along with wrinkles. A brow lift or forehead lift can restore the eyebrows’ position.

The procedure may be performed in several ways. Our physicians will help you decide which of the techniques described below is best suited for your needs.

Endoscopic brow lift

With this technique, doctors make three small incisions (cuts) that are about 1-2 cm each, using a special camera connected to a monitor for greater accuracy. The eyebrow is elevated, and the muscles that cause furrows are relaxed. The procedure usually takes about two hours, and patients go home the same day.

Temporal brow lift – minimally invasive

This technique is used to elevate the lateral portion of the eyebrow to restore its arch. Through a small incision (2-3 cm) behind the hairline, the lateral brow is freed from its underlying attachments to the bone and is elevated. This procedure leaves no scars on the face or forehead.

A temporal brow lift does not address the muscles causing furrows, so the procedure may be combined with a wrinkle-relaxing injection (such as Botox) to produce results similar to an endoscopic brow lift, while minimizing incisions.

Conventional brow lift

This technique is performed through an incision behind the hairline, running from ear to ear (like headphones). If your hair is receding, the incision may be placed directly at the hairline, to prevent adding even more height to your forehead. Most scars fade into the hair as they heal.

Before the procedure begins, your hair will be tied in rubber bands but will not be shaved. Once the incision is made, the skin and muscles are elevated to gain access to the muscles and eyebrow. The eyebrow is elevated and the muscles producing brow wrinkles are relaxed. Any excess skin is then removed.

Ear Surgery

Otoplasty

Ear surgery, also known as otoplasty, can alter the shape, position, or proportion of the ear. This procedure can correct a defect in the ear structure present at birth that becomes more noticeable with age or treat changes in ear shape caused by injury.

Ear surgery creates a natural shape while bringing balance and proportion to the ears and face. Even minor adjustments or corrections can have profound benefits to appearance and self-esteem.

Specifically, ear surgery can treat:

  • Large ears (a condition called macrotia)
  • Protruding ears occurring on one or both sides — not associated with hearing loss
  • Ear deformities or structural irregularities
  • Corrections to previous ear surgery
Earlobe reduction for ptosis or sagging

Ptosis, or sagging of the earlobe, can occur with age as elastic fibers diminish and gravity takes effect. Earlobe ptosis can be easily corrected through a minimally invasive earlobe-reduction procedure. A small piece of earlobe is removed, and the remaining tissue is brought together — leaving a barely noticeable scar.

Earlobe repair or reconstruction after traumatic injuries

A split or torn earlobe is one of the most common aesthetic deformities of the ear. This can result from heavy earrings, an earlobe that is pierced in an improper position, or from trauma to the lobe. Regardless, it can cause distress to the patient who wants to continue to wear earrings or would like to restore symmetry to their earlobes.

Eyelid Surgery

Blepharoplasty

Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, is a surgical procedure to enhance the appearance or improve the function of the eyelids. Surgery can be performed on either the upper or lower lids, or both.

Specifically, eyelid surgery can treat:

  • Loose or sagging skin that creates folds or disturbs the natural contour of the upper eyelid, sometimes impairing vision
  • Excess fatty deposits that appear as puffiness in the eyelids
  • Bags (puffiness or fullness) under the eyes
  • Drooping lower eyelids that reveal white below the iris
  • Excess skin and fine wrinkles of the lower eyelid

Facelift

Facelift

A facelift, or surgical tightening of facial tissues, is used to accomplish a variety of appearance goals, including:

  • Smoothing the wrinkles and creases under the eyelids
  • Removing loose skin and fat deposits from underneath the chin
  • Lifting sagging cheeks
  • Tightening the face and neck muscles

Facelift surgery is often combined with a brow lift or eyelid surgery to further improve the appearance of the area around the eyes.

Hair Transplantation

Hair Transplantation

Hair transplantation surgery is a cosmetic procedure available to both men and women with thinning hair, significant hair loss, or bald spots. Hair transplantation candidates must have healthy hair growth at the back and sides of the head to use as “donor hair”. Factors such as hair texture, waviness, color, or curliness may affect the results.

All hair transplantation techniques use your existing hair, which places some limits on what can be achieved. The goal of the surgery is to find the most efficient uses for existing hair. Hair transplantation techniques such as mini-grafts, micro-grafts, and punch grafts are generally performed to increase hair fullness.

Lip Enhancement

Lip Enhancement

Lip enhancement procedures provide patients with a fuller lip. They also reduce the fine lines and wrinkles that are commonly found around the upper and lower lips. Lip enhancement is performed by injecting a natural or synthetic material into the lip or lip areas. Most patients can return to normal activities the day after their procedure. Minor swelling or bruising may occur for a short time.

Mid-face/Cheek Lift

Minimally Invasive Mid-Face Suspension (MIMS Procedure)

A minimally invasive mid-face suspension (MIMS procedure), often called a mid-face or cheek lift, is a surgical procedure meant to improve the appearance of the nasolabial folds (“smile lines”) and cheeks. As we age, the fat that on the cheeks (called the malar fat pad) drops. As a result, patients experience a flattened appearance to the cheeks, more prominent smile lines, and drooping at the corners of the mouth. A mid-face lift will elevate the malar fat pad to restore volume, reduce the appearance of smile lines, and lift the corners of the mouth.

To achieve good results while keeping scarring to a minimum, our physicians use the MIMS procedure. This is done through a small incision behind the hairline. It is an outpatient procedure performed under local anesthesia, and it can take a few hours to complete.

Nasal Surgery

Rhinoplasty

This procedure changes the proportions of your nose. It can also correct breathing problems caused by structural defects in the nose.

Rhinoplasty surgery can change:

  • Nose size in relation to facial balance
  • Nose width at the bridge or the size and position of the nostrils
  • Nose profile with visible humps or depressions on the bridge
  • Nasal tip that is enlarged or bulbous, drooping, upturned, or hooked
  • Nostrils that are large, wide, or upturned
  • Nasal asymmetry (lack of alignment or balance)

The aesthetic goal of nasal surgery is to create facial balance and pleasing proportion, but some asymmetry will always remain.

Rhinoplasty to correct a deviated septum

Nose surgery that’s done to address an obstructed airway requires careful evaluation of the nasal structure as it relates to airflow and breathing. Correcting a deviated septum – one of the most common causes of breathing problems – is achieved by adjusting the nasal structure to produce better alignment.

Neck Lift

Neck Lift

A neck lift, or lower rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure that improves visible signs of aging in the jawline and neck, such as:

  • Excess fat and skin relaxation in the lower face
  • Excess fatty deposits under the chin
  • Loose neck skin
  • Muscle banding in the neck

These conditions can be influenced by genetics, gravity, environmental conditions, and stress. Many patients choose a neck lift when the neck area simply doesn’t match with their upper facial appearance.

Other procedures are often performed along with a neck lift, such as:

  • A mid-face lift
  • Fat transfer, to add fullness to the lips and cheeks
  • Eyelid surgery
