Minimally Invasive Mid-Face Suspension (MIMS Procedure)

A mid-face or cheek lift is a surgical procedure that improves the appearance of the nasolabial folds and cheeks. As we age, the fat which is overlying the cheek (called the malar fat pad) drops. As a result, patients experience a flattened appearance to the cheeks, noticeably more prominent nasolabial folds, and a drooping of the corners of the mouth. A mid-face lift will re-elevate the malar fat pad to restore the volume loss to your cheeks, lessen the appearance of nasolabial folds, and lift the corners of the mouth.

To achieve such results, while keeping scaring to a minimum, our physicians use a technique known as Minimally Invasive Mid-Face Suspension, most commonly known as the MIMS Procedure. During this procedure your physician will make a small incision behind the hairline, and then elevate the malar fat pad to restore the natural, full appearance of your cheeks. The procedure takes several hours and is performed under local anesthesia on an outpatient basis.
